What We Do
The Interfaith Center’s mission to advance mutual trust, understanding and cooperation among faith communities, in order to work together for the common good of the region is the inspiration for the many programs the Center coordinates and sponsors. Our signature programs—Walking the Walk, Alternative Spring Break, Quest, Interfaith Women Clergy of the Delaware Valley, Interfaith Education and Dialogue—all have the same goal, which is to create communities of hope and reconciliation throughout our region—in workplaces, schools and neighborhoods.

From Our Participants
We talked a while about Chemistry
Myself and this man at Grace Cafe
‘Though to all else in the vicinity
It seemed so dull, seemed so passé
But he remembered molecules
As well as some students at my school
Don’t get me wrong
His memory wasn’t fully clear
It had been so long
But I still had to hear
About aldehydes, ketones and hexane
Our conversation must have seemed inane
He needed this
He needed to know
Another chemist
For his knowledge to show
I listened and wondered about the man I did meet
Where did he err to end up on the street
His interest in science
Showed he wasn’t so dumb
From where came his reliance
On us? He’s no bum
Did he get addicted to drugs, booze or wine?
Did fighting in Vietnam impair his mind?
He’d be a chemist if things broke a different way,
But instead he’s here in a soup kitchen today.
